Sailfish Capital of the World! the sign proclaimed as my parents and I rolled into town in 1971. I honestly think I started crying when I realized where my parents had brought me. Growing up in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and spending summers on Long Beach Island was my comfort zone and I wasn't at all sure I needed to live in a place famous for sailfish.
But over the years when I returned to visit during the holidays and summers, I came to love Stuart, the rivers and of course the ocean.
The Treasure Coast has changed a lot since the early 70’s when I first came here fresh out of high school and on my way to college in Puebla, Mexico. After spending my freshman year at Bennington College in Vermont, I studied at La Universidad de las Americas and later graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
After 20 years living in New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, Key West, Long Island, San Francisco, Antigua and London, I moved to Stuart in the early 1990's and set up my business in 1994.
Since 1994, we have worked with more than 200 businesses, non-profits and entrepreneurs stretching back to the River Dayz Festival for the St. Lucie River Initiative.
Our Treasure Coast area is rich in legend, lore and history, old Florida beaches, and small islands, incredible rivers, amazing pioneer families who make our area authentic and plenty of inspirational people from all over the world who have discovered the difference – living on the Treasure Coast.
